Q: Is my child’s schedule information secure?
A: Yes! Completely safe and secure. All of your information and your child’s information is secure. The ONLY people who know anything are the people you include in your Carpool.
Q: Will reminder messages
be sent to BOTH my cell phone and email address?
A: Yes. Reminders and
confirmations are automatically sent to the cell phones and email addresses of everyone
in your Carpool.
Q: Can I have more than
one cell phone number?
A: Yes. When you fill
out the form, list all the cell phone numbers and email addresses you want schedules
and reminders sent to.
Q: When I’m not picking
up or dropping off for my group, will DTR notify me that my child was picked up
and delivered back home?
A: No. This is the responsibility
of the parent driving that day.
Q: If I (or another
parent in our group) am/are unavailable to receive and respond to a pickup confirmation
message, what does DTR do?
A: It is your responsibility
to check on confirmations. If you are unable to, try contacting another parent in
your group.
Q: Is there a limit
to how big a given activity group can be?
A: That is entirely
related to how many children everyone’s vehicles can accommodate. If you outgrow
your current carpool, we will help create and coordinate a second one, and so on.
Q: If I know I’m not
going to be able to pick up or deliver AND I’m out of the office, can I text the
DTR web site from my phone to let the group know of the change in plans?
A: Yes. However, this
depends entirely on how much lead time you are able to provide. We can alert the
other parents up to a certain point. If this is a last minute situation, making
alternate plans will be your responsibility.
Q: How many family members
can I list for pick ups and drop offs?
A: As many as you have
available to drive. We suggest listing them in order of availability.
Q: If there is a last
minute change in my child’s schedule, how does DTR notify all responsible parties?
A: If anything on the
carpool calendar changes, you will be alerted via text message AND email. You will
even receive confirmation that others in your carpool have read the message and
are aware of the change. However, last minute is a relative term. In a situation
where we don’t have enough time to notify the rest of your Carpool, we suggest you
contact another parent
Q: If a child leaves
an activity group after it has been set up, what happens to the DTR schedule?
A: We simply reconfigure
the carpool calendar, and alert everyone of the change. The same applies if you
want to add a child to the group.
Q: If my child leaves
the activity group and I still wish to participate in the driving responsibilities,
may I?
A: Absolutely. More
than likely, you will be at least one parent’s hero.
Q: What if I need to
send someone else to ‘cover’ for me on a given pick up or drop off, how does DTR
notify everyone in the activity group?
A: If anything on the
carpool calendar changes, you will be alerted via text message AND email. You will
even receive confirmation that others in your carpool have read the message and
are aware of the change.
Q: What if my child
has more than one activity?
A: No problem. You fill
in the information for each activity separately. For each activity, you will have
some of the same and some different parents and friends of your children involved.
Each of your children and each of their activities will generate its own Carpool
Calendar.
Q: What if I have several
children and they are all involved in different activities?
A: Each of your children
and each of their activities will generate its own specific Carpool Calendar. All
you do is fill in the information for each child, and that activity. We generate
your Carpooling Calendar, and email it back to you and every parent in the carpool.
